Where is asbestos commonly found in UK homes?

Asbestos can often be found in:

  • Artex / textured coatings
  • Ceiling tiles
  • Floor tiles and adhesives
  • Pipe lagging or insulation
  • Cement sheets, garage roofs, or soffits
  • AIB (Asbestos Insulation Board)

Homes built before the year 2000 are more likely to contain asbestos.

Is it safe to collect an asbestos sample myself?

The kit includes instructions for collecting a small sample safely. Avoid breaking or damaging materials more than necessary. We also sell Asbestos Testing Kits with personal protective equipment (PPE) included.
